The iLab kit has been designed for non-scientific personnel or field users, even the public, to do a basic screening of water quality to determine if it is acceptable for drinking purposes. The iLab kit determines the presence/absence (P/A) and quantification of key microbiological: the Aqua screen indicates the P/A of hydrogen sulfide producing organisms like, faecal coliform, while the Petri film gives an indication of the presence of both E. coli and Faecal presence. The Chem strips indicates a quantitative screening 15 chemical parameters that can be harmful to human consumption. This allows the user to understand their risk w.r.t acute and chronic health parameters and to make an informed decision to drink water from a supplied source.
